Karndean Designflooring’s Art Select has won the Good Design award in the Floor and Wall Covering category, recognized for its innovation, functionality, and durability. This collection features nearly 50 LVT designs inspired by global wood and stone, showcasing detailed natural aesthetics. With a robust 30-mil wear layer, each design is available in glue down LVT or rigid core SPC flooring options.
Jenne Ross, product director, expressed pride in receiving this prestigious award, highlighting its significance for designers and architects. The Good Design awards are presented annually by The Chicago Athenaeum and the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies. Christian Narkiewicz-Laine, the museum’s president, noted that winning reflects a commitment to innovative product design.
Ross emphasized that the award underscores Karndean’s unique position in resilient flooring, thanks to their dedicated design team and focus on beautiful visuals. Art Select also recently received an Adex Platinum Award, marking its second major accolade in 2025.
Robust Design for Durability
The 30-mil wear layer ensures durability in high-traffic areas while enhancing the sophistication of Art Select products. Wood-inspired designs feature hand-sculpted embosses and rounded bevels, while stone-inspired designs have a smooth matte finish that reduces reflection, showcasing ultra-realistic visuals. The emboss mimics luxurious materials like marble and onyx. Blended Oak offers warm brown tones in slim 48 x 4.5 planks.

Art Select enables designers and architects to mimic the luxurious appearance of costly materials, like onyx, which aren’t practical for flooring. With durable Art Select LVT, they can achieve these elegant looks with waterproof, scratch-resistant, and easy-to-clean performance. Rose Onyx is a striking design inspired by the semi-precious gemstone.
